Mike is the author of The Ultimate Small Cap Business: Building a Financial Advisory Practice, published by Expert Publishing.

“Mike was extraordinary. Having been in the business for many years I have heard countless speeches on business development but Mike's was the best. He gave a second motivational speech on "being a hero" which was truly inspirational. Excellent content with a dynamic presentation. Mike is a great speaker.”
Craig Watanabe, COO - Penniall & Associates Inc

“Most of the attendees ranked your presentation as the most valuable part of the entire workshop.”
Tammy R. Severt, First Vice President - Davenport & Company LLC

"When is a broker-dealer meeting not just another b/d meeting? When Mike Roby is in the house!"
Mac McGarity, MBA - Sun Life Financial Distributors

“I've known Michael Roby since 1990. I have worked with Michael as both a colleague and a consultant/featured speaker for various broker dealer events. Michael's first-hand knowledge of the financial services industry and implementable ideas to build one's practice are top notch. I highly recommend Michael as a coach and keynote speaker.”
Andy McFetridge - John Hancock

“Not only was Mike a very knowledgeable and dynamic speaker during one of our most highly attended sessions, he was very gracious with his time and attention during the conference resource fair where he helped us promote our products and shared valuable insights with many of our top producers.”
Teri (Elliott) Pullen - Thrivent Financial

“I would highly recommend Michael Roby as a speaker. Michael can inspire, motivate and train a group and is a very dynamic speaker. His credibility in the brokerage/ wealth management business is very high. He has successfully done the job and has a wealth of knowledge of how to build business. He makes it simple and straightforward and the fact he was a successful broker himself gives him great credibility.”
Tim Bush - Bank of the West

"I enjoyed hearing you speak at the RSM meeting in Pinehurst, SC for the Regional Sales Managers for BB&T. Probably the most effective speaker I have heard in the time I have been in this business. Greatly appreciate the great thoughts and ideas you provided."

“Michael's concepts represent a breath of fresh air with respect to sales strategy. By implementing his strategies I have increased my hit ratio to nearly 90%. Thanks Michael!”

WearLex Launch Party + Fundraiser

To Whom It May Concern,

Ever since I started my hand made jewelry business WearLex in 2013, I've been searching long and hard for ways to give back to our community and to students in need of funds for college.  As an Alumni of Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School I will be donating two scholarships to two female students who will be continuing their education specifically studying towards their Gemology Degree, Accredited Jewelry Professional Degree or Fashion Degree.

This year, I have decided to officially throw a WearLex launch party on Saturday, June 6, 2015 and am hoping to raise $5,000 or more. In order to ensure the success of this very important fundraiser, I am seeking contributions to help defray the costs associated with the event so that all funds raised from the event go directly towards supporting the Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School Scholarship Program for 2016.  Your tax-deductible donation will help with the costs of: the venue, bartenders, food, flyers and advertisements, swag bags, entertainment (DJ), giveaways, raffle items and more. All proceeds that are made during the event from raffle items and donations will be donated directly to the Assabet Valley Regional Vocational High School Scholarship Program for 2016.

Generous donors like you are the key to my success and make it possible for students to continue their education.

Your business logo or name will be listed in the event brochure, in any print or digital articles, on the WearLex website, on the event WearLex Facebook Event Page and on the EventBrite Page.

Please mail your donation to: WearLex, P.O. Box 1229, Marlborough, MA 01752 or you may also donate right here online. I thank you for your time and consideration.

Your business logo/name will be listed in the event brochure, in any print or digital articles, on the WearLex website, on the WearLex Facebook Event Page, as well as on this EventBrite Page under "Business Donations".

Big Al Workshop in the Boston, Massachusetts area
Open to ALL networkers!  Topic: Closing! SuperClosing!  And how to close without rejection. "Do I really know how to get prospects  to believe me and make a decision?" For most distributors, the answer is: "No."  And that is deadly.  Our job is to get prospects to make a decision to use our products and services, and to join our opportunity.  Yet, if we can't explain or understand exactly how our prospects make a decision, what chance do we have? How can we do our job when we don't even understand how this works?    Current Big Al workshop locations Can you answer these questions? Which part of the brain makes all of the decisions?    Do you know how to talk directly to that part of the brain?    How many seconds does it take for the prospect's brain to make a final decision?    Why does the prospect's brain make automatic and final decisions - before you even mention your products and services?   What word sequences will instantly turn off the "salesman alarm" in your prospect's brain?    Why does the social proof connection to the survival program in our minds override every part of your presentation?   Which two sentences will pre-close your prospect, before you even begin your presentation?   In this three-hour workshop, you will learn: How to close easily with no rejection.   How to avoid the "think it over" objection.   SuperClosing.   How to close to the subconscious mind.   Three-way closes.   Closing before the close.   Higher level closing.   Setting the prospect's mind for success.   And much, much more.   There are two types of distributors in the world: 1. Those that know exactly how to close their prospects, before the presentation ever begins, and  2. Those that suffer years of frustration, rejection, and embarrassment because they don't understand what is really going on when they give a presentation.    Make sure to bring your entire downline. They can't wait to learn the simple skills to make "closing" simple, easy, and fun. This is your chance to quickly jump to a full-time income.  Some things you should know: Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Yes. Each ticket has a unique scan code. What is the refund policy? Since this is a live event, we refund tickets only if the event has to be cancelled. If you've purchased a ticket and find you can't attend, we encourage you to have a business associate use your ticket. It's OK if the name on the ticket doesn't match the attendee's name. When can I buy tickets? Tickets are available up until one hour before the event begins, or until the event sells out. We hope this allows you plenty of time to join us. Only $25 for early birds, $30 after May 31st. Because seating is limited, please purchase your tickets now.  Hope to see you there! My current workshop schedule is posted here. The NCTL/Mass 2020 Team

Celebrating 10 Years of Raising Student Achievement, Empowering Teachers and Enriching Education through Expanded Learning Time

Massachusetts educators and students have been Leading the Way on Expanded Learning Time (ELT) since 2005 when the National Center on Time & Learning (Mass2020 at the time) partnered with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to invest resources in redesigning the school day as a means of improving public education. It has been ten years since the launch of the Massachusetts Expanded Learning Time Initiative, and currently this investment enables 22 schools across the Commonwealth to add 300 hours per year for all students to drive student achievement and engagement.

Since 2008, NCTL has offered a suite of technical assistance to help schools effectively implement ELT and sustain improvements over time. Offered at least three times per year, our Leadership Team Sessions have provided school teams the opportunity for focused learning, sharing with colleagues and action planning. These sessions regularly receive high marks from participants who stress how much they value time to work with their school colleagues on redesign plans as well as get new ideas and inspiration from their peers from across the Commonwealth.

In 2012, through a generous grant from the Ford Foundation, the TIME Collaborative was launched. Through this 3-year initiative, NCTL is able to provide deep technical assistance in 5 states including Massachusetts. On June 9th, NCTL will be convening for the first time the schools that have been part of the MA ELT Initiative over the past ten years with the TIME Collaborative schools that we’ve been working with for the past three years. Together these schools represent the pioneers in innovative school redesign.

At NCTL we are going to be celebrating over the next several months the 10-year anniversary of Massachusetts Leading the Way on ELT starting with the Inaugural Network Convening on June 9th at the Best Western Royal Plaza and Trade Center in Marlborough, MA. Below is an agenda for the event and we hope you will consider joining us for this first in the nation gathering of a statewide Network of Expanded Learning Time Schools.
